Stella and Edward Pienkos Scholarship Recipients
On May 17, 2017, Dr. Mark Pienkos awarded the Stella Pienkos Scholarship to Taylor Chappell, a graduating senior from Badger High School, located in Lake Geneva, WI.
Taylor will be attending the University of Wisconsin - Madison this fall, majoring in Engineering.
Since its inception in 2003, The Pienkos Family has donated nearly $15,000 to high school students continuing their education. These scholarships are accompanied by a plaque providing a statement as to why Stella Pienkos is such a special person who needs to be remembered, along with husband, Edward. Their emphasis on doing one's best, especially in getting a solid education - something Stella and Edward were unable to attain as they were products of the Great Depression - is the purpose of this annual scholarship program.
It is a joy to hear from past recipients of the Stella Pienkos Scholarship. To hear how these young people have utilized their talents is remarkable. They are a tribute to their family, community, nation, and world.
