Why does Mark, better known as Dr. P, wear red shoes? The answer to this question goes back to his days as principal at Badger High School in Lake Geneva.
While shopping for athletic shoes for two of his three children, they came across shoes that were red and white, the school colors of Badger High School. Besides buying the shoes for his kids, Dr. P decided to get a pair for himself – to wear on special occasions at school. He did that for a few years, but in August of 2004 (at an orientation program attended by 600 students and parents), Dr. P announced that although he previously wore his red shoes on special days at school, he was going to wear them everyday because “everyday should be a special day at school.” And that’s exactly what he did! Plus, when he was appointed superintendent/principal for the Fontana Joint 8 School District a year later, he continued this tradition because (guess what?) the school colors for Fontana were: red and white!
Later, Dr. P served the Washington-Caldwell School District in Waterford, WI as its administrator and folks saw him wearing those red shoes again because (guess what?) the school colors of his new digs were . . . red and white!
Now you know – the rest of the story! However . . .
In April, Mark was appointed Interim Superintendent for the Traver School District in Lake Geneva for the 2017-2018 school year. You may see him sporting blue shoes because the Traver Timberwolves school colors are BLUE and white!
